About Adam
An Internet entrepreneur and community activist, Adam Meister has lived at 2216 Linden Avenue in Reservoir Hill since 2003. From the beginning, he has played a leading role in the community; whether by creating and serving as the president of the Linden Avenue Block Club or by consistent participation in the Leadership Assembly and general meetings of the Reservoir Hill Improvement Council (Meister has only missed two regular meetings since he became involved). Meister has also organized and participated in countless cleanups, block parties, and other neighborhood social activities throughout Reservoir Hill and the 11th District.
As the founder and director of the TechBalt “Buy-A-Block” initiative, Meister helped rejuvenate Linden Avenue and brought positive media attention to Reservoir Hill. Meister has been an active participant in every housing RFP in Reservoir Hill since 2003.
Additionally, Adam Meister is one of the founding Board Members of Friends Of Druid Hill Park and an active member of the Transit Riders Action Council of Metropolitan Baltimore. In his free time Adam likes to run five miles a day through all the neighborhoods of the 11th District.
Meister’s primary goals upon his election as councilman in Baltimore 11th District include improved schools, lower property taxes, clean streets, zero tolerance for open air drug markets, and the sale of vacant properties owned by Baltimore City.
Meister’s record of service in Reservoir Hill will continue once he is elected to City Council. Through his community involvement and his campaign efforts, Adam has already made City Council his full time job, “For $57,000 [the annual salary for members of the City Council], it’s absolutely unacceptable to treat it otherwise,” said Meister at a recent community meeting.
Adam Believes that a city councilperson must lead by example, and once elected, Adam will set the tone by hosting districtwide quarterly meetings, participating in at least two cleanups a month, taking part in at least two COP (Citizen On Patrols) walks each month, answering all emails personally, walking or biking to work at least 10 weeks per year in order to reduce unnecessary pollution, traffic, and parking congestion, and fighting to immediately bring neighborhood-approved development to the empty lots on Whitelock Street.
