Thanks for the kind words - it was a pleasure to meet you on our walk. Our #1 goal must be safer, cleaner neighborhoods. Having taken part in numerous COP (Citizen On Patrol) walks throughout the 11th District each month, I know we must do better for our residents. I love Pigtown and I believe that we must do more to turn this historic and proud Baltimore neighborhood around. We can achieve this by making a concerted effort to eliminate blight. I am very concerned with Baltimore’s policy of holding on to and doing nothing with many abandoned properties throughout the city - properties that if sold, could grow the tax base and substantially reduce blight in our neighborhoods. More city residents would also allow us to reduce taxes for all and make it more affordable to rent in the city. I have also said since I declared for City Council that we must have zero tolerance for open-air drug markets. We must confront once and for all the scourge of drug dealing on our streets. Not until all of our residents feel safe, can Baltimore reach its full potential. When elected, I will work everyday on strategies and implementing ideas to rid our neighborhoods of rampant drug-dealing. I thank you for your interest in my views and for sharing yours. I hope you keep telling me what you think and encourage others to give me their two cents as well.

Not a bad site. Met you yesterday. I think you're off to a good start by personally getting out in the neighborhood. I lived in Pigtown for 3 yrs now. It is nice seeing some change. However, I am seeing a lot of blight and drug activity. These need to be primary goals. Moreso than lowering taxes. (Hell, I'll pay more taxes to live in a clean drug-free neighborhood.).
